Salora 212, 1956

The portable Salora 212 battery-powered and alternating current radio and Salora 112 battery-powered portable radio were Salora’s first VHF compatible portable radios. They had telescope antennae. Salora 212 had “Deac” cell (nickel-cadmium accumulator) that increased the radio’s functioning certainty as a mains powered receiver and decreased the power consumption of the glow battery.

Salora introduced their first portable radios into the market in 1953. In the 1950’s the plywood casing of the portable radios was covered with plastic-like material in various colours.
